Matrix is a highly porous media engineered to deliver exceptionally efficient biofiltration by targeting the single-site removal of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate in freshwater, marine, and reef aquaria. Each litre of this advanced media offers over 160,000 cm² (170 sq. ft.) of surface area, which is equivalent to more than 40 L (10 gallons) of conventional plastic ball media, providing an extensive environment for beneficial bacteria to thrive and maintain optimal water quality.

Designed for versatile use, Matrix can be placed in any type of aquarium filter and is especially effective in canister filters. Its granule size is sufficiently large, eliminating the need for a filter bag in most applications, which facilitates easy water flow and maximizes filtration efficiency. Matrix also performs well in drip tray systems, although for such setups, the larger Pond Matrix may be more suitable.

For optimal results, it is recommended to use 500 mL of Matrix for every 200 L (50 gallons*) of aquarium water.
